A thermal fuse is a safety device, not a resettable maintenance item. Repeated failure calls for investigation of the overheating condition and the correct part specification. Replacing the fuse again without identifying the cause can leave the hazard in place. Stop using the dryer until it has been assessed.
Tell the technician whether drying times increased first, whether the cabinet became unusually hot and whether the exhaust route was recently changed. Identify whether the dryer is vented or ventless; their airflow and heat-management systems differ. Record the model and any previous repair invoice instead of opening the appliance to inspect the fuse.
Clean only the user-accessible lint filter according to the manual. Do not bypass a fuse, substitute a higher-rated part or run repeated test cycles. Do not disconnect the exhaust and run the dryer indoors as a test, especially with a gas appliance.
For a vented model, diagnosis needs to consider the full exhaust path as well as temperature control and heating operation. A ventless dryer requires its own model-specific checks. The repair should address the cause and verify safe operation, rather than treating the fuse alone as the explanation.
Send the full model number, the symptom and any displayed code when you request a visit. The $49 service call is applied toward the repair; confirm the full quote before authorising work. See the repair cost guide for questions to ask.
