An oven error code identifies a condition detected by its control system; it does not always identify the failed part. The same-looking code can mean different things across brands and models. Copy the full code and the model number before resetting anything, and consult the manual for that exact appliance.
Record the selected cooking mode and whether the code appeared during preheating, cooking, cooling or a cleaning cycle. Tell the technician if the door is locked or a fan continues to run. A cooling fan operating after cooking can be normal, but the manual determines the expected behaviour.
Follow only the reset or cancellation steps documented for your model. Do not force a locked door, bypass a latch or start a self-clean cycle to try to clear an error. Stop using an oven that overheats, trips a breaker or shows smoke unrelated to food residue.
Diagnosis may need to distinguish a sensor reading, wiring connection, latch condition or control fault. A replacement control should not be selected solely from an online code list. Keep a photo of the display and describe whether the error returns immediately or only under heat.
