A changed gas flame needs qualified attention.
A changed gas flame needs qualified attention. Flame colour alone cannot prove safe combustion, and adjusting jets yourself is not a safe fix.
When safe, tell us which burner changed and whether it followed cleaning or service. Do not run it again to make a recording.
Stop using the appliance. For gas smell, a carbon-monoxide alarm or an immediate hazard, leave and call emergency help outside.
Qualified service checks the burner, installation and combustion conditions with the appropriate equipment before recommending work.
Report the flame change and any soot already observed, together with the burner affected. Do not run the stove to take a new photograph or attempt to adjust gas flow. If gas is smelled, leave and follow emergency guidance; describe prior observations when requesting qualified service.
Send the full model number, the symptom and any displayed code when you request a visit. The $49 service call is applied toward the repair; confirm the full quote before authorizing work. See the repair cost guide for questions to ask.
If you smell gas: leave the building immediately. Do not operate lights, switches or appliances. From outside, call ATCO at 1-800-511-3447 or 911. Do not re-enter until it is declared safe.
